As a second-generation Dominican-American, Jonathan has always taken pride in his parents’ ancestry and in making his family proud with the opportunity they gave him to be in this country. Jonathan graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and from Maharishi International University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Regenerative Agriculture and Sustainable Living. Since this time, Jonathan has worked for multiple non-profit organizations in Iowa’s local food system. His experiences have pushed him to seek creative ways to be there for farmers with the understanding that they have a place in the community that cannot be overlooked. Farmers are stewards of the land, and so, Jonathan believes that we must highlight their importance as it is in alignment with community development. Being of service to our communities and collaborating with local leaders in Iowa’s food system is what it’s all about. Jonathan is excited about the possibilities that we can all make together, by providing more access to local/regional food.
