I am a student at Iowa State University studying Global Resource Systems. I became interested in the local food system through my interest in sustainability and prior work in environmental conservation. I quickly began to see the interconnections between environmental degradation, poor diets and the conventional industrialized food system.

I see supporting local farmers that are using sustainable practices as a means to improve the quality of the resources we all depend on (water, soil and the abundance of nutritious food). I am thrilled to be a part of the Cultivate team and to see our local food system grow and thrive.

In my free time I enjoy spending time outdoors, you can find me biking, hiking, fishing or gawking at a flower or bird. If I’m not out in nature I’m probably with my wife playing pickleball or attending a yoga class.
